Volunteer Opportunities

Many volunteer opportunities exist at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center!

Interested in being a citizen scientist, and helping with the multitude of projects at GIAC including: bird banding, butterfly surveys, point counts, invasive plant removal, native plant restoration and more? Volunteers get hands-on experience, gather meaningful data, and have a great time! Training and mentoring provided.

Our gardens and grounds are lovely, and are scheduled to get lovelier! We plan to add a number of educational and decorative gardens, so if you have a green thumb and like to get dirty, we are looking for you! Volunteers maintain gardens and grounds, prep for plantings, water, weed, mulch and maintain the composting station! Opportunities will exist in garden design and outreach!

At GIAC, we have a number of educational animals that provide a valuable teaching tool for our visitors. Animal care volunteers help us to keep them in the best conditions possible. Volunteers assist with the cleaning of enclosures, feeding, watering and handling for public presentations.

In addition, we have opportunities in education program support, special events and our store/front desk! If interested, please contact Amy Boyd, at aboyd@audubon.org.
